At dawn on Wednesday June 29th Israel's occupation forces shot and fatally wounded 23- or 25-year-old Mohammad Maher Nafe’ Mer’ey (his last name is also given as Marei) in abdomen and heart during a raid targeting the city of Jenin on Palestine's occupied West Bank.
Mer'ey, from the Jenin refugee camp, died in hospital from his wounds.
The Israeli occupation forces, which targeted the family homes of two young men, Yahia Yousef Aref Jaber(23) and Ahmad As’ad Abdul-Halim Nabhan(26) and arrested them, wounded also a second man during ensuing confrontations with unarmed protesters and exchange of gunfire with resistance fighters.
Mer'ey's cousin, Bara’ Kamal Lahlouh(23), was killed by Israel's occupation forces in Jenin on June 17th.
In his funeral Mer'ey's body was covered with a flag of the Islamic Jihad, but there has been no confirmation that he would have been affiliated with the group.
